2002.03.14 hope you're still with us:

last night scott and i went out to the pinback show. they only made us pay half price because we didn't end up getting there until after pinback had already started. commence drinking. pinback played through quite a few tunes when they started pointing out that their bass player couldn't sing, mainly because it hurt him to even talk. this presented a big problem because he's half of the vocal impact. they played a couple more songs, with the guitarist pointing at the bassist's mic and saying "if anyone knows his parts, feel free to come up here. seriously." after that, they decided to let the bassist take a break, while the keyboard guy moved behind the drums and the two remaining pinbackers played through a ton of covers, including astrozombies and minor threat. that got old pretty quick. the drinks were too expensive to keep it interesting.

then we went to some party at the lava house. apparently no one else knew there was a party, mainly because with me and scott there were a grand total of twelve people in this huge warehouse. scott and i opted out to cahoots, where we ended up meeting up with chris, who was hilariously trashed. upon close inspection, everyone at the front bar was trashed, even the bartender. they were playing motley cr?e really loud and singing along on the house microphone. someone announced last call at 2:30 and they were quick to correct that.

"i repeat…this is not last call. please keep drinking…"

so we did. and then we went home and bitched about women for the rest of the night.

it's a beautiful day and i'm stuck at work. this sucks more than i really care to relate.
