2003.05.13 the move to movabletype:

so, if you've not noticed, things have changed around here… ever so slightly. (as seems to be the case quite often when things actually have changed quite drastically. i'll mark that up to my own poor planning and ability to… "improvise").

but yes, we've moved now totally (i was already on it for a couple days, but hadn't posted yet) over to the movabletype content engine. initially, you won't be able to tell much difference, but as time goes on, i'll add in more of the whiz-bang features that movabletype has opened up for us. (post searches, categorization, RSS syndication, anyone, hello, is this thing on?)

i still have some work to do on the archive links at the bottom of each side (the monthly archives for the past !!! THREE YEARS !!! goodness, has it been that long), and i'll have to try to come up with something to make sure that all those old "permalinks" that are floating around out there are still "perma". and i'm really afraid that that is going to be quite a bitch to accomplish. but, i'll probably just have to do it a month at a time and not try to do it all in one night.

nevertheless, the bulk of the work is done, so, sit back and enjoy what you will probably not even notice.

p.s. movabletype unfortunately carries no guarantee to magically increase or improve my posting habits. hopefully i'll just magically start getting 28 hour days instead of this 24 hour crap i've been having to deal with all my life.

Matt,
Just wanted to give you a quick heads up in case you are not already aware (which i kind of doubt, but hey) that Tomahawk is touring w/the Melvins, and will be here (oh, by the way, that's Columbus, OH) tomorrow, and other points mid-western later. I know your predilection for Mr. Bungle and FNM, don't know if you care for the other Mike Patton spin-offs, but there it is. Tickets are still available (as of now) for tomorrow's show on ticketbastard, along with a preshow party (starts at 6:30)! Also, Sonic Youth is doing the same in June, (not sure if they'll be in Louis, too) both shows are at the Newport Music Hall in downtown Col. It's about a 3.25 hour's drive from Louis., unless you're in a hurry…..
Probably not feasible, but oh, well, what the hell? Maybe we'll see you there… (Did I mention I was married? – yep! to my old high school, long-time friend and apparently then some, Perry! Weird, ain't it?)

I'm saying there is a certain segment of the population that would make Pay Pal donations to see such a thing, yes.

Brian -Nope, I live in Columbus, so I didn't check to see if they would be there. Mostly I just wanted to bring up the fact that Tomahawk/Melvins are playing – tonight – in Columbus (the closest they will be to Louis.. Sorry if this was irrelevant ;)….

Thanks for the heads up Jennifer, there was some discussion a while back about going to the Tomahawk/Melvins show in Indy… but i never could commit to it. 😉 we were talking about making it a "band trip", but i'm still trying to figure out whether i can/want to go… it feels like i've been so busy lately.

but i'm totally excited about Sonic Youth being here… i haven't seen them since the Thousand Leaves tour.

I do like the Tomahawk stuff i've heard, but i've never managed to get off my ass and buy my own copy of the last album. I'd *like* to buy a bunch of Mike Patton's other side-projects, but i hardly ever even set foot in a record store anymore… it's strange that i like music so much, but i never buy any of it.

and hunter, i think i'd only do it if i knew i'd be able to make enough money to quit my job. unfortunately, in my current physical state, i'm highly doubtful that i could pull down quite that much after taxes.
