2005.01.25 rio, montego? oh, no:

sara and i finally decided on our honeymoon destination: Amelia Island, FL. promises to be relaxing, exciting, and enjoyable. now we just gotta find us a money tree.

we also finally figured out just how much we're willing to spend on a house, so that search will pick up speed (which is good, since the lease at my, Paul, and Allison's place is up approximately April-ish). wish us luck.

and finally, if you haven't checked out Battlestar Galactica you are doing yourself a grave misservice. if you like Sci-Fi at all, i mean even the slightest bit, you must watch this show. pick up the miniseries, download the first three episodes (or all 12 that've been released in the UK already) and plop your ass down in front of the tube for a while. it's worth every minute.

The new Battlestar Galactica kick so much fucking ass. It's not just an awesome sci-fi show, it's simply a great drama. Well written, acted and produced.

We wanted to love it, but the gal that plays Starbuck is annoying as hell. And what's with all the "fraking"? That really fraking ruins it for me. Who the frak says frak? bah!

I did kinda like Numb3rs though (stupid title). Did you see it? They need to get more into the actual math instead of blurring it out and making it into a music video for pop physics. And what's with dumbass being cast as a theoretical physicist with the lame physics non sequiturs? If they'll just listen to me and it gets better that'll be the first network show I'll have watched in many years. Scary.
Northern Exposure dude is actually a good actor too.

jen, it's "the future" where family friendly space soliders have learned to curse in code! apparently, though, it's common in space to replace the word "fuck" with a word very similar, but not… paul, what was it they said on Farscape? Frell! that's it. Frell, Frak, Fuck

as for Starbuck, i don't find her any more annoying than the rest of the characters, and she's a hottie to boot. i think she plays her roll very well… a fun-loving daredevil who's spent most of her life trying to prove she's as good as everyone knows she is. (because she's a girl! gasp!)

Besides, there's enough really awesome stuff going on to offset the annoyance factor of one character… so far, it's been some pretty serious and high-caliber storytelling!

i think i saw an ad for Numb3rs, and i remember it striking me as interesting, but i really do not watch any TV except for my Enterprise (and now BSG), excepting the stuff i half-heartedly watch while hanging out with Sara during her study breaks (which i don't really count).

I'm not sure why they said frak in the first place, but they're continuing it from the original series (probably just an attempt at continuity). In any case, I haven't missed an episode yet!!! On Friday nights, my ass is relaxed in a comfy couch at 10pm… any of my roommates get in my way, they tend to get threatening looks and pushed aside (I've even shushed them during scenes, hung up phone calls at the end of commercial breaks…. man I'm a nerd…) 😛

there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a nerd. and yeah, Sara knows if she comes over on "Geek Night" that talking is kept to a minimum (if that much!) during our "stories."

i can't even tell you how hard it is for me to resist pulling down every episode from tvtorrents.com! i've been good though, i only start downloading them beforehand on the night they air.

I set the DVR to record an episode of the Battlestar Galactica. I probably shouldn't have tried to watch it while drunk, though.

I also found it weird that the girl in the show looks like a weird cross between Claire Danes and that girl from Goonies.

I imagine watching it drunk wouldn't be too bad, depending on how drunk you are, i suppose. And that last episode that aired… man… the best one yet.

And that girl may look a little weird, but it's in a hot way.
