2002.03.05 you wanted to see it? well now you see:
tonight was coffee with matt and paul. i'm really glad paul has hopped into our little semi-regular caffeine ritual. kinda like i hopped right into their friday night bar trip ritual. and started expanding it with scott and chris, on occasion.
needless to say, we had a good ol' time, talking about all kinds of random crap, such as u2 and their newfound relevancy in the u.s. of a (i don't quite understand it) and how the last r.e.m. record was a big letdown. paul was a fan of up, but the last outing of their's that i considered worthwhile was new adventures in hi-fi. as ever, we could debate that one until the dawn and both end up saying "i see your point."
yeah. then we left the coffeeshop walking like bono.
i did all kinds of incredibly interesting things today. such blockbuster hits as…sleeping too late! laundry! eating! and encoding stuff from tape onto the computer! seriously…you only wish you could live as far out on the edge of life as i do. i'm so far out there, my white ass is flappin' in the breeze.
and don't you forget it.
the live and/or rare mp3 of the day (or so)
guilt – off white
taken from the out of print release synethesia and some old tape comp, as well as the guilt discography cd
(recorded in 1993)
i made jon pick the second track of the feature, and he decided on this one. i think he referenced it being "intense" which is an understatement. for those of you not well-versed in your guilt, they were a louisville band that rocked ass like there was no tomorrow. this song really showcases their power and still stands as one of my favorite guilt tunes of all time.
ps: scott says "that track isn't rare!" but, hey…who cares. it's rare enough.
