slowly working my way towards the end of the day. the score around here is brian: 2, kinko's: 0. not looking good for the corporate team, eh?
haven't been doing much web browsing lately. adam at kempa.com updated and linked to a few good weezer sites, so maybe you should head over there and check it out.
us|against|them has a few interesting tidbits, as well. including a news item about mtv releasing a soundtrack to this years real world…complete with the get up kids and promise ring? as well as a link to an enjoyable newer site: indieshite. they're assholes after my own heart. i'm interested in seeing what negative things they have to say about good ol' bipolar…
so yeah…i stole most of my links and relied on the other weblogs to get me through this post. what're you gonna do about it?
the "i'm a fuckin' geek" dept.: fandom's newsarama. the only site you need to check for daily comic geek news.
i'm slowly trying to move all of my shit out of my old apartment and into my new temporary lodgings. things are proceeding slow, and there's no one to blame for that except myself. maybe if i didn't have to work all the time, i'd have more time to do the shit that i need to do. but then again…paychecks are nice.
okay…two days in a row, starting with radiohead quotes. i really need to check myself. but whatever. green plastic radiohead has new live pictures from one of the greece shows. pretty good stuff.
i've decided to be the office asshole. i've decided to make workplace politics work in my favor. i have begun systematically breaking down all of the things that bother me around here in increasingly devious ways. preferential treatment for others? well i've taken care of that.
geek link of the day: pop image. they have all kinds of cool interviews posted on a regular basis. right now they're featuring one with stan "the man" lee about all kinds of things, including his newest venture, stan lee media.
i'll probably try to update again later…
weekends are funny things. i spent a little of mine in lexington, kentucky. we had to take matt's sister down there to have a little welcome home party, and we ended up spending the night. paul was way too drunk to drive home, so i slept on a stranger's floor. the best way to describe the whole ordeal is: maudite, dsl, keg, luna, wendy, "nobody loves a cowboy anymore", rugs and blankets, physical proximity to the loved one, canned cleavage, bob evans, thecut, and the human genome project.
i've been listening to too much radiohead lately. mostly live stuff from that ever-lovin' french bootleg site. suggested downloads: the glastonbury and 10-spot sets.
gratuitous comic link: warren ellis' weekly column at comic book resources, come in alone.
i think adam is feeling better. kempa.com has been updated a few times since i've last seen my computer.
i'm thinking of buying a new minidisc deck this weekend. that should enable transmission3000 to get updated a hell of a lot more often.
the archiving should now work right. then again, nothing ever works right, so screw it.
i feel like my interview went well this morning. i'm not gonna get my hopes up just yet, but i think i told them everything they wanted to hear. isn't that what it all comes down to?
i'm going to bed.
quick update…
i added in the access to the archives. matt had this in his log well over a week ago, but i'm just lazy and haven't gotten around to it till now. now just scroll to the bottom to enjoy reading all the other bullshit.
cool comic site: savant. may i forever remain a geek.
i failed to mention in my earlier post that i have an interview for a new job on monday. i'm really fucking stoked. i'll be making a ton more than i do at kinko's (where i am at this very minute…). this may be completely unpunk of me, but damn it, i love money. it certainly makes life a hell of a lot easier and i tend to enjoy it much more than i do when cash is short on hand.
back to your regularly scheduled web log…
wow. i usually don't have shit to write about, but i've found a few interesting things around the internetola since wednesday, so i guess i'll share them…
adam at kempa.com was written up in detroit's metrotimes. hooray for him.
the onion's a.v. club site has reviews of the new sunny day real estate and modest mouse albums. probably this summer's most eagerly anticipated releases. might i add that the a.v. club is definitely a cool site. another masterstroke from the always impressive onion.
sebastian finally updated signal drench, complete with a new edition of "indie prick digest." this one is a complete dissection of what they should do with mtv's real world.
weblog of the day: megnut. it's just a damn good read.
matt is somewhere in cincy picking up his sister who just flew in from france where she teaches english. he won't be home until later tonight. so i'm chillin' on my own for a while…
i am happily downloading the most recent radiohead show from that wacky page that all the blogs are on fire about. i love the fact that it's in a foreign language. "computer ko" just sounds funny to me. i will most likely be held at gunpoint until i make a tape of this for my friend paul.
other than that, my leg feels much better after the initial day of inflamed swelling caused by a fresh tattoo… i can actually wear pants now.
i'll have to update again later…i'm drawing blanks.
sorry for not updating lately. i've had a busy weekend, to say the least. matt has a small write-up of just one of my misadventures in his log.
i finally got new ink yesterday. thanks to jay fish at acme ink for his loving touch. that sounded kinda sick, but whatever.
link round up: kerroo has found herself a helping of funny redirect urls. adam at kempa.com finds plenty of g.i. joe links to play with. and us|against|them has an interesting contest going on.
there should be new shows hitting transmission3000 over the next couple of weeks. should. details are still being worked out, but i'm gonna remain optimistic.
i have to think about getting to work soon…
adam has posted a veritable cornucopia of links over at kempa.com. go check it out.
nothing much on the personal note. i had a crazy toothache earlier, and i've been pissed all day that all i could get ahold of was my dentist's answering machine…
new quote from sebastian: "when life gives you poop, make poop juice." he updated signal drench at 7am…complete with an episode of "indie prick digest." someone has even posted a rebuttal to one of his reviews. i'm sorry, but i think i'm gonna have to side with my man sebastian on this. although someday i'm going to rewrite his bluetip ep review…
now that i've gotten my last personal dig of the day in…goodnight.
jeez…i kinda went on a tear last night. i didn't mean to offend any 600+ pound people. at least not the ones who don't treat the rest of the world like we should give a shit.
okay…now that that is out of the way…kerroo posts high praise of the transmission3000 redesign. thanks to her. and thanks to matt for the kind words, as well. adam at kempa.com even lists it under his "redesigned favorites" heading. how sweet. yes i will stop jerking myself off now.
one question for us against them…is it pretty?
compliments from people you really care about mean everything.
sebastian says: " I think the new Signal Drench idea will be NEVER UPDATED!" oh well…word around the water cooler is that the tiger isn't even drinkin' any booze. it's probably just milk.
thank you very much for your patronage. please drive through.
